NIR852 Near-Infrared Absorbing Dye – 852nm Peak for Optical and Covert Applications
NIR852 is a high-performance organic NIR dye with maximum absorption at 852nm. It is specifically designed for applications requiring extremely low visible light absorption, such as optical NIR cut filters, invisible security markings, and clear laser-welded assemblies. The dye has a neutral gray-brown color in bulk but becomes nearly colorless in thin films at typical loadings.
Peak absorption: 852nm ± 2nm – matches common 850nm LED and 852nm laser diodes
Outstanding transmittance in the visible range (400–700nm > 90% at 0.05% loading in 0.5mm film)
Good solubility in acrylic, epoxy, and polyurethane systems
Excellent photostability: retains >90% absorption after 1000 hours of 850nm LED exposure
Non-fluorescent – ideal for applications where fluorescence interference must be avoided
Appearance: Black powder
